Mylan Medications - Identify Your Pill
Mylan 185 Pill
What is Mylan 185? What kind of medication is the round yellow pill with "MYLAN 185" debossed on the front side, and "80" on the reverse? "MYLAN" and "185" are divided by a score, with the letters placed over the number.
Mylan 185 is Propranolol hydrochloride 80 mg.
It is one of the so called beta-blockers. Beta-blockers are a special class of medications that affect the cardiovascular system. They
are used to treat hypertension, heart rhythm disorders and chest pains caused by angina pectoris. Propranolol HCl can also be used to prevent migraine headache, herediatory tremors and some other conditions caused by arterial and vascular disorders.
As the sedative action of Propranolol affects the nervous system in whole, it may also be prescribed as an anti-anxiety medicine in some cases, too.
The medication is aslo distributed as name brand Inderal.
The recommended initial Propranolol HCl dose is 80 mg daily, which equals one Mylan 185 tablet. The dose may be increased gradually up to 480 mg per day, until desired blood pressure level is achieved. However, when Propranolol hydrochloride is combined with other drugs, its dosage should be kept lower. Do not take more Propranolol than it is prescribed by your doctor.
Propranolol HCl is also marketed by Mylan Pharmaceuticals Inc. in the form of extended-release capsules. See Mylan 6260.
You benefit directly when Mylan Generics are used in place of name-brand medicines. First, because you will be receiving a high quality medicine, and second, because Mylan Generics, including Mylan 185 tablets, are generally more affordable than famous brand names.
However, you may try and order Propranolol hydrochloride marketed by other manufacturers, too!
