Mylan Medications - Identify Your PillMylan 477You want to identify your Mylan 477 pill - a green round pill with MYLAN 477 embossed on one side and a score on the other? It is a Diazepam (generic Valium) 10mg pill - an anti-anxiety, anti-convulsant, sedative/hypnotic and skeletal muscle relaxant. Diazepam affects chemicals in the brain, thus changing a person's mood, or helping him or her to relax mentally and physically. Diazepam is known since 1960, with its improved version (Valium) since 1963. Together with such medications as Alprazolam (Xanax) and Lorazepam (Ativan), it belongs to benzodiazepines. Diazepam (Valium) is a core medicine in the World Health Organization's "Essential Drugs List", which is a list of minimum medical needs for a basic health care system. For oral administration Diazepam tablets are supplied in three strengths - 2mg (including Mylan 271 pill), 5mg (Mylan 345, too), 10mg (Mylan 477, too). Besides Mylan's products, numerous generic versions of Valium are available. In adults, starting dose of Diazepam is usually 2-2.5mg to 5mg taken once or twice a day. Then, the dose is gradually increased up to 5mg or 10mg (one whole Mylan 477 pill) taken twice daily. If needed, Diazepam can be administered in doses of 20mg taken two or three times a day. But the maximum daily dose of Diazepam must not exceed 60mg. In children aged 1 to 3, a single dose of Diazepam should not exceed 1mg, with a total daily dose of 2mg. In children aged 3 to 7, a single dose - 2mg, a total daily dose - 6mg. In children aged 7 or older, a single dose - 3mg to 5mg, a total daily dose - 8mg to 10mg. Dosages should be determined on an individual basis, depending on the condition to be treated, the severity of symptoms, the body weight of the patient, and the individual's response to the treatment. Because of the drug's addictive potential, dosages should never be increased by the patient. Even when taken in low doses during a long period of time, Diazepam leads to physical dependance in ALL patients. Skipping a regular dose may cause such symptoms as dizziness, blurred vision, increased heart beat, feelings of unreality, pins and needles. Abrupt cessation after a prolonged period of using Diazepam can cause serious withdrawal symptoms that include: insomnia, headaches, nausea, vomiting, lightheadedness, sweating, anxiety, and fatigue. To avoid severe withdrawal, Diazepam (including Mylan 477 generic version) should be discontinued gradually by tapering off the dosages. Long-term usage of Diazepam (Valium) may cause psychological dependance in patients, too. So it is not recommended to take the medication for more than 2 months uninterruptedly. The course of treatment can be repeated no sooner than after a three weeks interval. Do not take Mylan 477 pills if you are allergic to Diazepam or other benzodiazepines. Do not combine Mylan 477 pills with alcohol, or with any other sedative substances, as their effects may be doubled making you drowsy or/and imparing your thinking. You benefit directly when Mylan Generics are used in place of name-brand medicines. First, because you will be receiving a high quality medicine, and second, because Mylan Generics are generally more affordable. However, you may try and order Diazepam (Valium) marketed by other manufacturers, too! |
