What is Mylan 377 pill? What sort of medication is the white round pill with "MYLAN" embossed on one side, and "377" on the other?

In adult patients, Naproxen is used for:

  • Rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, and spondylitis - in dosages of 250 mg (e.g., one Mylan 377 pill, 375 mg (e.g., one Mylan 555 pill) or 500 mg (e.g., one Mylan 451 pill) two times a day, in the morning and evening.
  • Bursitis, tendinitis, menstrual cramps, and other kinds of pain - 500 mg for the first dose, then 250 mg every six to eight hours as needed.
  • Gout - 750 mg for the first dose, then 250 mg every eight hours until the patient feels relief.

    • If necessary, the dose can be increased by your doctor up to a total of 1500 mg a day, or reduced to the minimum after your condition improves.

    In children, the dose is based on body weight. The initial dose is usually 5 mg per kilogram (about 2.25 mg per pound) of body weight twice a day.

    The extended-release formulations of Naproxen are not recommended for use in children, as they are too strong for them.

    Naproxen (including Mylan 377 pills) increases your risk of life-threatening heart or circulation problems, including heart attack or stroke. This risk will increase the longer you use Naproxen. Do not use Naproxen just before or after having heart bypass surgery (also called coronary artery bypass graft, or CABG).

    Naproxen (including Mylan 377 pills) can also increase your risk of serious effects on the stomach or intestines, including bleeding or perforation (forming of a hole). These conditions can be fatal and gastrointestinal effects can occur without warning at any time while you are taking Naproxen. Older adults may have an even greater risk of these serious gastrointestinal side effects.

    You should be very careful taking Naproxen if you consume three or more alcoholic beverages per day.

    Before taking Naproxen (including Mylan 377 pills), women should inform their doctor if they are pregnant or if they may become pregnant, as the medication can be harmful for the unborn baby. Naproxen is not recommended for breast-feeding women because it may cause unwanted effects in nursing babies, too.

    Do not take acetaminophen or aspirin or other salicylates together with Naproxen for more than a few days. Do not take Naproxen if you are allegic to acetaminophen, aspirin or other salicylates.

    One must remember that Naproxen does not cure such conditions as arthriris, etc. It only helps to relieve pain and inflammation caused by them.
