Mylan Medications - Identify Your PillMylan AWhat is Mylan A pill? What kind of medication is the white round pill with MYLAN A stamped on its front side and a score on the reverse? Mylan A is Alprazolam 0.25 mg pill manufactured and distributed by Mylan Pharmaceuticals Inc. Alprazolam is a generic for Xanax - a sedative or anti-anxiety medication from the benzodiazepine family. Each white tablet with MYLAN A written on it contains 0.25 mg of Alprazolam (Xanax). Alprazolam is manufactured by Mylan Pharmaceuticals in other dosages, too: 0.5mg (Mylan A3), 1mg (Mylan A1), and 2mg (Mylan A4). Mylan A Alprazolam is a short-acting drug of the benzodiazepine class used to treat moderate to severe anxiety disorders, panic attacks, and as an adjunctive treatment for anxiety associated with clinical depression. Mylan's Alprazolam A pills are sometimes used with other recreational drugs to relieve the panic or distress of dysphoric reactions to psychedelics such as LSD and also to promote sleep in the "come-down" period following use of recreational drugs with stimulant or insomniac properties (such as LSD, cocaine, amphetamines, DXM, and MDMA along with the related amphetamines). Some patients on Alprazolam (Mylan A) may benefit from a substitution with Diazepam (Valium), or chlordiazepoxide (Librium) as these drugs remain in the bloodstream longer and therefore have less potential for abuse and dependence. After 8 - 9 weeks of Alprazolam taken at a fixed prescribed dose, the following symptoms have been found to occur during abrupt discontinuation: dysphoric mood, fatigue, low energy, confusion, and elevated systolic blood pressure, severe anxiety. Withdrawal symptoms may include blurred vision, trouble concentrating, loss of appetite, diarrhea, muscle twitching, numbness or tingling, or increased sensations. There is a higher chance of withdrawal symptoms if the drug is administered in a higher dosage than recommended, or if a patient stops taking the medication altogether without slowly helping your body wean itself off the drug. If you take certain products together you may accidentally take too much of this type of medication. Breaking the Mylan A pill would cause too much of the drug to be released at one time. Exposure to whole tablets should be avoided whenever possible, however exposure to whole tablets is not expected to be harmful as long as the tablets are not swallowed. Like all central nervous system depressants, including alcohol, Alprazolam (Mylan A formulation, too) in doses of 0.5mg and above (i.e., two Mylan A pills) can cause significant deterioration in alertness, combined with increased feelings of sleepiness. Do not drink alcohol while taking Alprazola/Xanax/Mylan A. This medication can increase the effects of alcohol. Alprazolam can cause side effects that may impair your thinking or reactions. Be careful if you drive or do anything that requires you to be awake and alert. People driving or conducting activities which require vigilance should exercise caution in using Mylan A1 or any other depressant. Stop taking Mylan A pills and get emergency medical help if you have any of these signs of an allergic reaction: hives; difficulty breathing; swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat. Tell your doctor if you become pregnant during treatment. Use an effective form of birth control while you are using this medication. Alprazolam/Xanax (Mylan A, too) can pass into breast milk and may harm a nursing baby. Do not use this medication without telling your doctor if you are breast-feeding a baby. The sedative effects of Mylan A pills may last longer in older adults. Accidental falls are common in elderly patients who take benzodiazepines. You benefit directly when Mylan Generics are used in place of name-brand medicines. First, because you will be receiving a high quality medicine, and second, because Mylan Generics are generally more affordable. However, you may try and order Alprazolam (Xanax) marketed by other manufacturers, too! |
