Mylan Medications - Identify Your Pill
What is Mylan A4? What kind of medication is the tablet with MYLAN A4 written on its front side and the other side criss-crossed with two scores?
Mylan A4 is 2mg Alprazolam (generic for Xanax). It is a sedative or anti-anxiety medication from the benzodiazepine family. Each white colored tablet with MYLAN A4 written on it contains 2mg
of Alprazolam. As you may notice, one
pill of Mylan A4 is equal to four pills of Mylan A3.
Mylan's Alprazolam A4 tablet, also known under the trade name Xanax, is a short-acting drug of the benzodiazepine class used to treat moderate to severe anxiety disorders, panic attacks, and as an adjunctive treatment for anxiety associated with clinical depression. Alprazolam Mylan A4 is sometimes used with other recreational drugs to relieve the panic or distress of dysphoric reactions to psychedelics such as LSD and also to promote sleep in the "come-down" period following use of recreational drugs with stimulant or insomniac properties (such as LSD, cocaine, amphetamines, DXM, and MDMA along with the related amphetamines).
Some patients on Mylan A4 may benefit from a substitution with Diazepam (Valium) or chlordiazepoxide (Librium) as these drugs remain in the bloodstream longer and therefore have less potential for abuse and dependence. After 8 - 9 weeks of Mylan A4 taken at a fixed prescribed dose, the following symptoms have been found to occur during abrupt discontinuation: dysphoric mood, fatigue, low energy, confusion, and elevated systolic blood pressure, severe anxiety. There is a higher chance of withdrawal symptoms if the drug is administered in a higher dosage than recommended, or if a patient stops taking the medication altogether without slowly helping your body wean itself off the drug.
If you take certain products together you may accidentally take too much of this type of medication. Each Mylan A4 tablet can easily be broken into four pieces. Exposure to whole tablets should be avoided whenever possible, however exposure to whole tablets is not expected to be harmful as long as the tablets are not swallowed.
Like all central nervous system depressants, including alcohol, Alprazolam (Mylan A4) in doses of 0.5mg (one forth of the whole pill) and above can cause significant deterioration in alertness, combined with increased feelings of sleepiness. Withdrawal symptoms may include blurred vision, trouble concentrating, loss of appetite, diarrhea, muscle twitching, numbness or tingling, or increased sensations. Do not drink alcohol while taking Alprazolam/Xanax/Mylan A4. This medication can increase the effects of alcohol. Alprazolam can cause side effects that may impair your thinking or reactions. Be careful if you drive or do anything that requires you to be awake and alert. People driving or conducting activities which require vigilance should exercise caution in using Mylan A4 tablets or any other depressant.
Stop taking this Mylan A4 medication and get emergency medical help if you have any of these signs of an allergic reaction: hives; difficulty breathing; swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat.
Tell your doctor if you become pregnant during treatment. Use an effective form of birth control while you are using this medication. Xanax (Mylan A4) can pass into breast milk and may harm a nursing baby. Do not use this medication without telling your doctor if you are breast-feeding a baby. The sedative effects of Mylan A4 tablet may last longer in older adults. Accidental falls are common in elderly patients who take benzodiazepines.
You benefit directly when Mylan Generics are used in place of name-brand medicines. First, because you will be receiving a high quality medicine, and second, because Mylan Generics are generally more affordable.
However, you may try and order Alprazolam (Xanax) marketed by other manufacturers, too!
