What is Mylan 5222? What kind of medication is the blue (or blue and green) capsule with "MYLAN 5222" written on its sides?

Mylan 5222 capsule is Omeprazole (generic Prilosec) delayed release 40 mg. The medicine is used to treat symptoms of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and other conditions caused by excess stomach acid.

Mylan's Omeprazole is also available in 10 mg and 20 mg strengths as Mylan 5211 and Mylan 6150 capsules.

Omeprazole was first marketed in the US under the brand name Losec in 1989.
